Family guide to exploring Nantucket, MA
This summer we took the kids and headed to Nantucket to explore everything this tiny island just off of Cape Cod has to offer!
Famed for its natural beauty, beaches, cobblestone streets & lighthouses we are so happy we got to visit & I’m going to be sharing with you mamas my favourite places to visit in Nantucket with young children.
This photo was taken at Brant Point Lighthouse. The station was established in 1746 and welcomes ferries into the port! We passed this on the way in as we brought our Jeep on the car ferry.
surfside beach 🌊
Our first stop when arriving at Nantucket was heading to Surfside beach!
We loved this beach it is so family-friendly. The beach is wide so it is perfect for picnics and of course… games. Perfect for an afternoon game of tag!🤩
Top Tip 👉 There is a parking lot right by the beach so you won’t have to carry things too far with the kids. We have a beach wagon which we like to pile everything for the day into…including the kids 😜
Top Tip 👉 Don’t worry if you forget your picnic, there is a snack bar right on the beach!
Sandy toes & Salty kisses 💛🌊

Galley beach 🏖
Galley Beach is all about fine dining on the sand. Don’t forget to dress up a little and get ready for a pain killer cocktail while the kids play under the table in the sand.
For any of you guys who follow me on Instagram, you’ll already know how much this mama LOVES Lobster! So when we stopped off at the Galley Beach restaurant I was in my element seeing the Lobster roll on the menu **cue the drooling** 🤤🦞

Places to visit in nantucket⛵
We took the kids and headed off-roading on Wauwinet beach.
Top Tip 👉 You can only off-road if you have an off-roading vehicle!!
Have you guys ever driven off-road before?
Growing up in the snow I was often in a ditch 😝
We hit the Sand Bar on Jetties beach most evenings to enjoy a frozen mudslide and lobster roll! There was no food waste as the seagulls made sure everything was eaten! Do you notice a lobster and cocktail theme this holiday?! 😜🦞🍸
White Elephant hotel
We stayed at the lovely White Elephant hotel located in the downtown historic district in Nantucket. It was perfect for the kids because they got the runaround and burn off all their energy on the front lawn while we ate, and run down to the beach to watch the boats come in and out. We pretty much ate every night at Brant.grill, my favorite drink was the White Elephant and has gorgeous views of Nantucket harbour.
It rained a bunch while we was here but that did not stop up from getting on our bathing suits and going for a swim in the rain.
Mama even got to hat a hot stone massage at the spa!!
